🇬🇧 On the 11th November 2023 we met again through Zoom, and the main goal of this workshop was to share ideas about how to carry on developing our project.
There was a bit of a situation though… I forgot that with the end of daylight savings time here in the countries of the Northern Hemisphere, the time difference with the countries in the South changed too. I just realised that fact 10 minutes before the meeting, so, the participants from the South joined the meeting one hour earlier than the participants from the North. I was really so embarrassed for my distraction, but still we had a very nice session with the majority of the participantes, who were in Brasil, Argentina and Indonesia, joining in the first hour. When the participants from the Northern Hemisphere joined in the second hour, I briefed them with what we had done in the first hour, and the discussions complemented each other.
One of the participants had re-edited the collage #1, so we started the meeting watching it. The impressions about this new version had many comments about how the videos and the field recordings seemed to belong together. We also talked about not to let ourselves to be content with the “good”, instead to push our ideas, so as to get out of the zone of the obvious and get to something interesting.
We talked about embracing chaos (which includes my confusion with the time zones), about the word “invitation”, about developing further our individual ideas, and about many feelings of desire to do collaborations.
We also talked about Brian Eno’s “Oblique Strategies” and we did an exercise of each one of us to write one or more cards with our own “oblique strategies”.
We decided then for each one of us to do another recording of 1 minute, but as a response to 1 minute recorded by someone else in the collage #1.
We will then watch / listen to these new recordings together in the next workshop, not in a collage this time, and we will decide together how to carry out developing our project.
🇧🇷 No dia 11 de novembro de 2023 nós nos encontramos mais uma vez através do Zoom, e o principal objetivo dessa oficina era compartilhar ideias sobre como continuar desenvolvendo o nosso projeto.
Porém, houve uma situação… eu esqueci que com o fim do horário de verão nos países do hemisfério norte, a diferença de fuso horário com os países do hemisfério sul mudou. Eu só percebi isso 10 minutos antes do horário da oficina, então as participantes dos países do sul conectaram uma hora mais cedo do que as participantes do norte. Eu fiquei tão sem graça desta minha distração, mas mesmo assim tivemos uma oficina muito boa, onde a maioria das participantes, as quais estavam no Brasil, na Argentina e na Indonésia, conectaram na primeira hora. Quando as participantes do hemisfério norte conectaram, eu as atualizei sobre o que nós fizemos na primeira hora, e as discussões se complementaram.
Uma das participantes re-editou a colagem nº1, então nós começamos a oficina assistindo este novo video. As impressões sobre esta nova versão incluíram vários comentários sobre como os videos e as gravações de campo pareciam pertencer uns aos outros. Nós também conversamos sobre não nos acomodarmos com o “bom”, mas para tentarmos ir além, para sairmos do terreno do “óbvio” e então chegarmos a algo interessante.
Nós conversamos sobre aceitar o caos (o que também inclui a minha confusão com o horário), sobre a palavra “convite”, sobre desenvolver nossas ideias individuais, e também tiveram muitas manifestações de desejos por fazer colaborações.
Também conversamos sobre as “Estratégias Obliquas” de Brian Eno, e fizemos um exercício one cada uma de nós fez um ou mais cartões com as nossas próprias “estratégias oblíquas”.
Nós decidimos que cada uma de nós vai fazer uma segunda gravação de 1 minuto, mas agora como resposta para a primeiro gravação feita por outra pessoa na colagem #1. Nós vamos então assistir / ouvir essas novas gravações juntas na próxima oficina, dessa vez não como colagem, e vamos decidir juntas como continuar desenvolvendo o nosso projeto.
