We will work together in online workshops to develop online piano concerts to be streamed on YouTube and in music festivals.
In the online workshops we will talk about music, about being a woman*/ a girl, about anything in life. We will then work on selecting a theme, the repertoire, and the format of the online concert.
As a pianist, I offer myself to be the performer in the concert but, if any other participant would like to perform too, she will be more than welcome!
Throughout the year we will be producing small parts of the concert and sharing as work-in-progress. After watching these work-in-progress videos, we will get together online to talk about it, and to discuss how to carry on developing the concert.
After we stream the final version of the concert, we will get together online one more time to talk about the whole experience, particularly about how the experience of participation had an impact on the sense ‘being part’, ‘being connected’ to other people during the streaming of the online concert (in research terms, we are calling it ‘liveness’). I will also love to hear individual comments through written questionnaires and written testimonies. .
This project is divided in two stages:
In the first stage (May 2023 – April 2024) I will work with groups of women (aged over 18 years old) who will be recruited through calls on social media.
In the second stage (May 2024 – April 2025) I will work with groups of girls (aged 13 – 17 years old) from selected schools in Norway, Brazil and the UK.

All participation is free and voluntary. You will receive a consent form explaining everything about your participation (for example, that you are free to stop participating at any point, no questions asked). I will always make sure that you are treated with respect and that your privacy is protected.
As result, this project will present 4 work-in-progress music performance videos, and 2 full-length online concerts. It will also present 2 academic papers, one technical handbook, and a book of testimonies.
If you want to take part, just fill the Contact Form in this website, or send an email to kesiadecote@gmail.com and I will write back to you with more details.
Looking forward to making music with you!
